ELOS vs Salifert results

Since my Salifert Kits are coming to an end, I went with the ELOS kits, and must say I am pretty happy with them. I am pretty sure the difference in the Mg is my fault. At one point, I put two ML of saltwater into the Mg solution when I wasnt thinking. They are pretty much just like Salifert. Add drops until it changes from 1 color to another. I went with ELOS over Lamotte as ELOS has a Mg test.

Salifert:
Ca - 450
Alk - 8 dKH
Mg - 1425

ELOS
Ca - 500
Alk - 8.5
Mg - 1300

Also, I have a question. I read that you can double the saltwater for the ALK, and this will give you .5 dKH measurements, instead of 1 with each drop. So I am guessing I could do the same with the MG? Each drop is 100 ppm, so if i double the saltwater, then it would only be 50 correct?

can I ask why you think elos test kits are more correct than your salifert kits?

You can do that with any titration, but you'd run out of reagents twice as fast and double your cost per test.

The only kit i said that about was the MG one, because at one point when testing, I put 2 ML of saltwater into the MG solution instead of into the testing cup. The other results were close enough for me to say that neither is better than the other. With all the recent troubles with Salifert, i decided to try something new.
