Whats on my glass?

I have an AP 12g nano that has been running for about 2 months. I noticed today that there are about 40 or 50 tiny snail shaped objects on the glass of my tank. What is this? I tried to get a picture but can't get close enough for my camera to focus and still see it. Asking Santa for a digital SLR

moving? how tiny? either coraline algae starting to grow or copepods/amphipods, or pesty snails make love all night long.

I have these too, in my 30 gallon cube. I think they're baby snails and there's no predators in my tank so when there's a birth cycle, I get tons of these things. THen the population declines over time, then there's another bloom. THat's my observation anyway. They don't seem to do any harm but are a bit unsightly.

no, they do not appear to move. I tried to scrape them off the glass with my fingernail and they wouldn't come off. I didn't scrape very hard.

sounds like coraline algae, try a razor blade if you dont want it on the front of the tank, some people dont like it on the glass at all, others let it cover the entire back of their tank.

Yes, they are white and spiral like a snail's shell.

Google "Spirorbid Worms" for images and see if that's them. If so, they are harmless filter feeders. They are unsightly though.

LOL whats whight? LOL just pokin fun. their worms/feather dusters good,but ugly. Use a razor blade if you tank is glass to scrape them off, if not an plastic ice scraper works wonders.

Thanks. I've had these things for awhile and never knew what they were. Been scraping them off the front and sides and leaving them on the back.

Sounds like they may be baby pyramid snails and they are harmfull to corals and are invasive like aptaisia.Sixline wrasse and coral banded shrimp will eat them,but physically removing them is a plus too.

I checked the picture. They did not look like the "Spirorbid Worms". I'll see if I can get my buddy to come over and take a macro shot of them. No idea when that will be though. I tried to scrape one of them off last night with my fingernail and it did come off. Not easily, but it did. None of them seem to move at all? I will monitor and see how it goes. The only concern that I've read so far is that they can destroy corals if they are pyramid snails but I don't have any coral so I'm good right now
