Skimmer for 90 gallon Tank

Need a skimmer for 90 gallon tank. Have limited space in sump. Any ideas on quality skimmer?

Need small footprint. But must be quality & works!

I have a 90G and use a EuroReef RS135 in a 20G High sump.

The skimmer and pump take up about 75% of the sump.

Don't know the actual footprint size, but you can find it on their website.

Does it need to be in-sump model? Do you have space and/or the desire to utilize an "external" skimmer? I run a Reef Devil Deluxe on my 90G reef and have it plumbed external to the sump...

I really don't think you're going to find a better performance skimmer with a small footprint than ATi Bubblemaster 160. Super quiet too! Here's a 1/2 dozen local owners that recently installed a BM160:

The new Octo extremes look pretty impressive.

I have a 90. Use a ASM-G2. Works really well.

Octopus all the way, very good value for the price. I use the NW-150 and have no complaints.

If you're looking for performance and a small footprint, my vote is also for the Bubblemaster 160 for a 90g and you have have as heavy a bioload as you want and no worries as the skimmer will catch it all. I have an H&S and a BM skimmer on each of my 2 tanks and my smaller 90g has the BM because I couldn't fit anything bigger in my limited sump space. You just need 8"x9" max area. You need 21" height. With air draw at 800lph - 900lph, you have a foaming machine.

Reef Sponger, do you thing the H&S A150 is to big of skimmer for a 90 gal. with a 30 gal. sump. I plan to go reef with some fishes.
This will be my first salt water tank.

Since the H&S A110 is too small for a heavy bioload 90g, the next size up by default is the H&S A150. Yes, I do think it is overkill, but it's the best fit in the H&S skimmer line. I have my H&S A150 on a 180g medium bioload tank. Probably the most owners that have the A150 is on tank sizes between 90g to 120g range.

Thanks for the links RS. Very informative. I'll probably go with the A150.
