Qt
Hey all...I have a 10 gallon QT setup. I have a fake rosebud coral thingy as well as an 8" air stone for added oxygen. I also have a heater and HOB, as well as a regular hood light. Is this a good setup? It'll be up full time with 10% water changes every other week.

sounds like a good setup. but you may get more salt creep with the air stone.

Oxygen diffuses into water as a result of water movement at the surface. I'd remove the airstone and use an additional powerhead for water movement if the HOB doesn't provide enough.

Well, as of right now, I don't have any fish in there. I had a problem with Ich in my DT (as a result of not QTing), and also a territorial problem (any fish I put in my DT would get eaten). So now my DT is empty with the exception of corals and inverts, so the Ich should be gone because I don't plan on adding fish in my DT until the begging of January. Right now my QT is setup with SG at 1.023...so I will most likely go with copper treatment. I think my HOB is enough...but I heard it was good to have added oxygen in the tank for the fish.

Definitely. It's been fish-less since the Monday after Thanksgiving and won't be inhabited again until probably the middle of January. I don't have a refractometer...so I'm afraid to try the hypo.

I just did copper treatment on my achillies, could not find refract. closest one 2 and a half hours away. I started with a half dose first day, half dose second day, waited 48hrs, then full dose, worked GREAT.

Yeah...when I add fish to it, and if they have Ich, I'll definitely go with the copper treatment.
