Angry Green Algae on Glass and Gravel - Help

Reef Tank is 7 years old 55 gal, been in very good shape, but over the past 2 months or so getting a lot of green algae, not hair on glass that is wiped off easily, along with Medium, dark green algae covering the gravel. now starting to see it grow on some rock.

Lights are 6 months old.

I wipe it off the glass, change water every week 3 gallons Clean the gravel but it is back in a couple of days.

Run protein skimmer 24 hrs, Carbon filtration 24 hours, not sure what to do to stop.

Any ideas would be helpful, Thanks...

If you changed brands of carbon or in some way increased he effeciveness of your carbon this could be your problem. If your water has gained a lot more clarity it can cause a sudden increase in algae growth, even a large waer change can produce the same.
