To retrofit or NOT to retrofit?
I'm about to bring home an AGA 125g with an open-backed canopy.
At what point do I have to start considering retrofits vs. actual fixtures because of the canopy? I forget what site it was, but with lots of fixtures, their shopping cart said "If you have a canopy, you need to use retrofits". Why is this? Is this based on the type of lighting and needing to disperse the heat? What about if the fixture is up on legs? I guess this question is more out of curiousity than anything else. Since I CAN do retros in the canopy, I'll go that route and save me some $$$. Just curious though on where the retro/fixture line lies - and why. |
