LFS fires?

Just wondering if a LFS in your area has burned and what the cause was?

There's been 2 in my area in the last 2 yrs caused by...
1. UV Sterilizer
2. Lighting system

Haven't seen that, but I see my LFS flooded all the time.

LFS flooding is far more common, as auto-top off systems can and do fail from time to time.

However, the place I worked at did have a small fire before I started working there, and it was quickly contained. Seems an electrical short in one of the lights over a liverock tank caused a lighting fixture to go up in flames. Fortunately, staff was on the premises at the time, and, even more fortunately, the fire was put out before any damage could be done to the store.

In March of 2005, a Petco in Eatontown, NJ (a stone's throw from my hometown) actually exploded!

From what, all the decomposing bodies producing methane?

*snicker*

In all seriousness, according to the final reports of the explosion, construction workers installing electrical lines on the other side of the parking lot severed a natural gas line. A store manager quickly noticed the scent and was able to warn both customers and employees to evacuate the building before the gas ignited.
