Help with critter ID

I happened upon this strange fellow tonight during cleaning, never noticed it before. It's pretty small (3/4"), doesn't seem to move, and is in the same spot since I spotted it. The segments are hard like a shell and it possibly has a soft underside. Anyone have any idea?
