Help! CPR Overflow

I am trying to get my overflow working after a long layoff. I have the aqua lifter pump that came with it. It is not really helping get the syphen back.

Any suggestions to get this thing running again??

Assuming the unit was cleaned and prefilled before trying to get syphon back?

Clean-Yes

Prefilled is tough since the water runs right down to my sump as soon as I add it.

Is this a single outlet overflow?
And you need to fill the s bend or the area that the siphon pump draws from.

I got it. Just had to be more persistant with sucking through the tube coming off the top of the overflow. YUCK!

Unfortunantly it looks like my gen x pump(return) is not functioning properly. It used to flow a lot faster than it is now. Rrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!
