Ever have one of those days...
Ok so I'm at the computer and I hear a loud noise. I go and check to see what it is. I can't tell at first, but my MH/actinic set up has dislodged from my DIY canopy and has fallen into my tank - lights on. I quickly disconnect everything from the wall because I'm scared someone or something might be electricuted(?). So, I'm busy rescuing my lights when I notice that my DT water level is going down below the usual waterline. I check it once a week just to make sure. Anyway, I carefully place my lights on top of my tank and check my sump. Sure enough it is overflowing big time and there is water everywhere. My power surge is about to get wet so I pick it up, put it on a chair and remove only the light extensions. I turn everything else back on and the flooding stops. One of my actinics fell out so I had it resting against the tank meanwhile. Of course, I bump into in in my chaos and it shatters. I finally clean up the mess and do a water change for my QT and replace lost water on my DT. I turn off the skimmer to clean it out and when I plug it back in - not working - UGGHHH - stupid pump. I still don't know if my lights work. I dried them up and put them aside. I'm scared to plug them back in- will they work?
Oh, and I just found out my son lied to me and was skipping class Have anyone's lights gotten wet and survived?

Let the lights dry completely and remove any salt residue (inside the fixture as well) before powering them on. Should be no problem...

Where am I?

I would wait a couple days. To make sure the lights were dry inside.

Submerge the lights in RODI and swish them around, then let them dry for a day or two. If you just let them dry out, they will be covered insalt creep (inside as well) and that will cause big problems. The RODI should dry and leave little or nothing behind.
