Its hair algae and detritus. What are your water parameters? How much do you feed, what and how often? Have you replaced any lighting, upgraded it, or need to replace bulbs? How are your phosphates, do you use Ro water?

All parms are normal and use only RODI water. Bulbs are are about a year old. 2x 14k hams and 4 vho's 2 atintic and 2 powers.
I have cut back on feeding recently but it hasnt seemed to help. Wondering what kinda of critters I could get to help. This algae is white, I was thinking hair algae but I thought it was green.

Not all the time, I had the same stuff going thru my tank. I had tu pull out what I could and then scrub with a tooth brush to get it off the rock and then siphoned it out. Your lighting may be helping it out, halides should be replaced between 10 and 12 months depending on how long they are on for each day.

Have you lost any live stock resently? The bulb maybe, it's a year old. You stated that you have cut back on the feeding but how much did you feed before?

Used to feed once a day. Sometimes twice a day.
