hi guys, need some input

I recently bought a used 55g reef tank. It seemed like a good start up tank and a reasonable deal for $350. It came with:

55g acrylic tank w/stand
Fluval canister filter 405
Bak-Pak CPR skimmer cyho2r w/RIO 600RV
2 Koralia4 pumps
Coralife lunar aqualights 48"/65w ea and timer

80 lbs live rock
live sand
green brain coral
blue mushroom
pacific button polyp
kenya tree
cleaner crew (snails, crabs, etc)

Everything seems fine, levels are good. Corals seem like theyre adapting well. I took this deal because it had everything i needed. Does this setup sound good? Anything else i'm missing or need to add? Thanks for your input and merry xmas!!

mike

80 lbs of live rock @ 5.99 to 6.99 a lb.

Good deal right there Merry Christmas...

Sounds good if the levels are all ok then I'd leave it be, as far as the filteration. If your corals are all healthy and happy then your water movement and lighting must be ok as well.

I have a 55 as well and my set up is fairly similar. Here are a few of the mods I have made to my tank.
I upgraded the powerhead for the BakPak to the Maxijet 1200, I run an Eheim canister on mine and I have removed everything from inside except filter floss, a bag of Rowaphos and a bag of Chemipur (canister filters are nitrate factories) and I have 2 Tunze 6025's and 2 Hydor 3's.
They were all mods I made gradually (once my wife allowed me to purchase the items, she is the CFO after all). The only thing you might consider changing ASAP are the bulbs in your fixture. How old is the fixture?? I have the exact same one and I change the bulbs religiously once a year, not cheap but it definitely makes a difference.
I hope your new tank works out well for you and you get as much pleasure out of yours as I do of mine!!! It's quite addicting once you get started, as evidenced by my 30 gallon reef I now have.
Happy Holidays!!!

If your skimmer is working get rid of the canister filter, a nitrate factory if you do not clean it every week, everything else sounds like a great deal, Merry Christmas!!!
