recomended tank size for panther grouper
does anyone know off the top of there head?

I would say for any grouper you would need about 1000 gallons.

Ther is an article on big fish this month ...January, Aquarium Fish Monthly. The article states at least a 135 gallon tank.

I would say at least 300 for an adult one.
But, should be noted that most consider the adults to be ugly compared to the juvis.

Up to 1 ft 8 inches in captivity if conditions are just right for them.

I have seen people with this fish in 150 and I feel sorry for the fish, way to small for a fish that gets that large. I would go with atleast a 300
