Looking for a 3/4" pipe thread tap
I'm trying to plumb a new OM Compact in with my new corner tank, but the female threads are too tight for standard Schd40 plumbing. I'm going to try some Schd80 threaded nipples tomorrow but if it's a no go, I will have to tap it out a little.
Does any one locally have a 3/4" tap for pipe threads I could rent/borrow? I'd like to avoid buying one if I can. Other ideas are welcome! Happy new year, Carl

I've had good luck doing that with the threaded nipples of various sizes. Never had to tap one yet.

Great stuff====$5 a can 24-48 hour cure Epoxy to cover it====little as $5 for small projects or up to $100+ for larger projects and another 24-48 hour cure I hope you covered it well cuz if you didnt it will start to break down in a few months sand is another added cost to cover up the yellow. Pond foams====$9-$15 a can 24-48 hour cure DONE! You can cover it with sand if you want to (YOU DONT HAVE TO) though but thats added cost again Current Tank Info: 75 gal under way |

How soon do you need this? Let me look at home or I might have one at work as well.

Thank guys, I appreciate the responses. I'd like to start hooking things up this weekend. I'll have the sched80 nipples today, hopefully that will eliminate the need for the tap. Here's another question, can I connect sched40 to sched80 with the same primer and glue I've been using for sched40 fittings?
$27 buck isn't too bad, I was told $89 from Granger!

Good news, I got the sched80 nipples and they thread in!!! I bought 2 - 4inchers and will cut them in half then add the elbows.
Any issues gluing them to some sched 40elbows?

no, there will be no issues. sch.40 and sch.80 are compatable. you can use the same glue for either. it only becomes an issue when cpvc, abs, or lxt is involved... hope this helps Ren
