How to get back at...

the people who go you addicted to reef-keeping.

Now I face an addiction that I do not see myself quiting unless money becomes a serious issue.

I love the hobby but should I blame the people who got me trapped into this mess? Had I not known about this I could have been saving money and doing other things and have different priorities.

Truthfully this post is all in good fun. I love the hobby and am thankful for the people that got me into it. I have always enjoyed growing plants and stuff so this is naturally the next step. I have learned so much and the hobby is relaxing, rewarding, and teaches a lot of values (responsibility, etc.)

Sometimes I wonder about how some of my decisions are made. Should I pay 25 dollars for a haircut or should I buy a new coral frag? I can just have my sister cut my hair for free and save this money to buy more crap for my aquarium (I actually did this).

Overall I weight this on a basic happiness/money ratio and I feel I am making a good investment.

Lets hear about your experiences and thoughts on this matter!

I say tell them exactly what you want for Christmas, birthdays, holidays, etc.. They will be some of the only people knowledgable enough to actually get you the correct thing and they won't gasp at the prices of corals and fish. They got you into it, time to get them to help ya out.

Great answer!

You are right, they knew exactly what to get me for Christmas and I was really pleased

I got a set of Koralia 3's for my 55 gallon tank and they are AWESOME.

Just remember, as addicted as you feel, there's always someone way worse than you.
