Whats the lighting requirement,placement and water flow of a sunset monti?

High light, high flow....if you lack either of these, you lose the background color.

excellent. Will a 150K HQI located about 9 inches above the top waterline be sufficent ?

well, I have my 400w halides 10" above the water line and the monti is about 4 or 5" below it if that helps.

i bought a 1/2" frag from eric over at frag farmer and it has grow to 1" in about 2 months. i run 250w phoenixes about 10-12" directly above with 50x tunrover ( random flow over the sunset). color has stayed vibrant and i beleive growth is quite good.
polyp extension is not as strong as i would like though.
