MJ Mods

Those with sure flow mods or whatever, how low can you guys place them below the water??? I have the sureflow one with dumas prop and can't go any higher than 6.25" below the water. I would love to put it a lot higher, but don't know how to without making major bubbles. Was thinking a square piece of acrylic right above maybe....

I have my sureflows at the very top although im using mj 400's and they're pointing slightly downwards. How are you getting bubbles?

I have 2 on 600's and they are working great...

Did you turn the mod housing so the part with no slots are facing up?
if you look at the cylinder you will see a spot that looks like they forgot to cut slots in, that should be facing up. if you still have issues email mark at http://www.algaefree.com/sure_flow.html he was great and responded fast

Wow! are you using a 1200? I tried that first and it was way to much for my tank..Did you get the kit that has two props? I used the black one it 's a little smaller but I'm still getting tons of flow..as a mater of fact my number 2 pump is on a timer 9am to 9pm it comes on for 15min
every hour...Before I bought the Mod I ran a wave master pro and 4 power heads..

yep using an mj1200, also using the white dumas 3004 prop. Its quieter and i love the flow Was thinking of putting a square piece of acrylic right above it maybe. Or cutting a piece of pvc in half, to cover the top part of the shroud maybe.

I use 4 1200's on my 75 gallon reef! On a wavemaker of course, the flow gets pretty chaotic!

The problem with covering more of the slots is that you will

increase suction velocity at all other slots
reduce the output of your mod to some degree

I have a high flow mod on my maxijet 1200 (triton aquatics) and have to place mine about as low in the water as you have yours.
