cleaning new protein skimmer
I got a new protein skimmer for my b-day I read on another thread your to clean new ones with vinegar. What I don't now is the water to vinegar mix if any.

i dont think u need to be too worried about the mixture....just rinse it with water real good after.

I actually used soap on mine. Filled the sink up, put in 1 or 2 drops of dish soap.
Just be sure to rinse it really well once you're done.

I would not suggest anyone use soap.
Straight vinegar is fine. It is very weak . |

do you rinse with RO water, or is tap water ok? Or can you use the reject water from the RO filter?

Just put it in the tank and go. Any oils that are on the plastic will be skimmed out.
