Question about lighting Cheato
so i have a 30 gallon breeder under my tank that i had my frags in and lit it with a 96 watt PC hood, but now since i am done with frags, i wanted to down grade that light over cheato to conserve heat and energy. I was thinking about gettign a clip on light fixture and running a energy effecient bulb friom home depot, from what i remeber they spectrum on them is a 6500k and they only use 14 watts of electricity, which is pennies a year to run. Has anyone done this or do this? Do you think it would work? Algae blooms? etc. Thought comments greatly appreciated.

I have been doing this for 7 years. It works fine. I use the 65 watt that puts out 500 watts. My friends do it also. No algae blooms. Grows real well.
