grey spots on LR?
I noticed some light grey dots on my LR maybe a month ago and now there is definitively more. It spread from being on just one rock, to all of them. Do you have any idea what this could be? I tried googling it, but no results.
The dots are light grey, small (about 1/4" or even 1/8" in diameter), and they are not fuzzy or anything. It's so flat, it doesn't look like something attached to the rock, more like the rock is changing color in spots (probably impossible, but that's what it looks like!). I thought it was nothing when I first noticed them, since there were so few. Now that it spread all over, I'm worried. Any ideas? |

Coralline algae die-off is what it sounds like to me.

I was just going to say, seems like the areas where I had a little bit of coraline algae are now gone. This is really bad, isn't it?!
I added some GSPs yesterday and they are all opened and looking nice today. So you'd think the overall health of my tank can't be that bad, right? What would cause coraline algae die-off? |

Not bad just different looking. Chemistry out of wack, not enough calcium, new lights...many things. My tank was solid purple when I got my live rock but is mostly pink now since going to better lights.
