How big of a tank for the following-
I decided that on my next tank I would try and plan everything out before deciding anything. (probably 6-12 months before I purchase anything)
I have a 29 gallon reef right now that I really enjoy but have two problems 1) the size limits many of the fish I would like. 2) the corals limit some of the fish I would like. I went through my fish book and selected my favorites= Panther Grouper, Comet/Sea Betta, copperband Butterflyfish, Coral Beauty (angel), Lemonpeel Angelfish, Maroon Anemonefish (clown), a blenny/Goby (undecided), Undulate Triggerfish, Picasso Triggerfish. Ok, I know the panther grouper is out due to size and the undulate Triggerfish is out due to aggression. So for the rest what would be a reasonable size tank? 7 fish, some that get pretty large. Of course info regarding compatability would also be appreciated (2 angels) At this point I would say this is a FOWLR tank, could I keep anything outside of the fish category in this tank? Thanks, Brian |

Minimum tank size for these fish run from 20-75 gallons. I don't think a 75 would be a good idea for those 7 fish but I want some idea of what would be realistic.

I would go with a150 to a 220. Its will give you lots of room for your fish to swim and grow to adult size plus room for corals. But the Picasso isn't reef safe, the bigger the tank better chance you have keeping multi angels. Just my 2 cents thou.

I would go for at least a 150g. Or - as big as you can if you can have a dedicated fish room.

undulate trigger will chase divers, as I recall. Noted for aggression. Grouper will eat other fish, so will trigger.

Sk8r-I know the Undulated and the Panther wouldnt work.
Are you saying that the picasso triggerfish should also be ruled out? snorvich-Are you talking about these three fish or do you see problems with the others? Brian |
