OT-pump question
this is about pumps but not for my reef, someone was telling me about Hydro powered pumps for when the power goes out, What happens is a solenoid vavle opens and water from your house begins to flow and this in turn powers the sump which removes water before your basement floods. this is obviously a great idea and got me interested. I figuered someone here could help me out cuz i know there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site within many different fields. i would love any info you have on these preferably a link, i could not find anything on them as i am searching with the wrong keyword i guess.
my other issue with it was ths guy said they pump 6 gallons for every one gallon. If this is right, how could it be, then why can't we use water returning from the display to power the pump on a closed loop. anyways i know this has to be false cuz if it wasn't we'd all have free energy. TIA joe. |

Also, these pumps can actually remove more water than they consume (without creating free energy). What you are forgetting is that your tap water is pressurized, usually 40 to 70 psi. |
