20"x20"x28" deep, what lighting options?
Hello folks, brand new here. Great site so far lots of great things and comments.
Anyway, I have 20x20x28 inch 48gl tank it's only a couple months old. I have the original lighting from the purchase with it and i'm wanting to increase the lighting. Original lighting is 32 watts and i'm running at 20k actinic and a 50/50 right now. I have some soft corals, mushrooms, yellow and green polyps a short tentacle plate and a duncans. I would like to have more corals both hard and soft. I have only a couple of black pers in the tank as of right now. I would like to add an anemone as well. And with time more fish. I'm thinking of going with the sunpod 20" 150 hqi. I've read some reviews that it would be good, might be just enough lighting to get to the bottom of my tank and be decent. As well there is the viper mh that is a clamp on that is reasonable but everywhere I read these are on nano tanks only. Any suggestions as far as your own experience if any of you have a similar deep tank. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks, Packrule. |

If you are thinking about doing a mixed reef on that size tank I would recommend going with a lumen bright reflector and a 250w hallide. You could get something in a nice 14k(ish) color and not have to worry about supplementing.
Good luck. G.
