What's wrong with my mantis?
i put in 2 freshwater feeder fish. the mantis went for them once or twice and missed. he didnt bother to go for them after that. they ended up just dying from the salinity. is this normal? i thought mantis shrimp kill anything that goes in their tank...i dont want him to lose his smashers. what live food could i put in for him to use them?

"i thought mantis shrimp kill anything that goes in their tank."
well, if they're not hungry (or if they can't catch the darn thing), why exactly would they try to kill "anything in their tank"? if you leave some hermits and /or turbo snails in there, or some crabs, sooner or later they'll be gone. if it does not seem to want to eat, it may be getting ready to molt...they tend not to eat just before a molt.

just leave them alone while they're at it and they should be fine. |
