Monster in my tank!!

Ok, its no giant worm.... Its a new hippo tang!

My other fish have no idea what to do around this beast, its sorta funny lol

But the hippo adjusted within 5 minutes and was eating and hanging out. Ive never seen a fish adjust so fast. I appreciate now more than ever the effort and waiting it took to get an already adjusted tang!! (cause evadently Im no good at getting them from the fish store!!!) lol

I got a 5" bluejaw trigger and he was the same way. About 10 minutes into the tank and HE was made King by all the other fish!!!!

I think though in this case, Size does matter!!!!!

TOURKID.. I just LOVE the look on the other fish's face as it looks at the hippo... "WHAAAAT THE ****" (seems to be what it's thinking)

Congrats on the tang! Looks great.

I have a really nice Hippo I inherited when I bought the tank, probably 8-9". Looking for a new home, he's too big for my 72, plus he's terrorizing my snails. Keeps picking them up and dumping them on the rocks...

I am looking for a hippo tang, but all I have is a 90g and a 8-9" tang is probably too big, especially since my other fish are much smaller.

Here's hoping someone else might have a smaller one they want to get rid of...

So is there like a chart for feeding these things?? I dont want to feed to little.

I feed my tank a mysis/emerald entree/forumla 1 & 2 kinda salad 2 times a day.

And Im putting a 2x2 piece of nori on the clip 2 times a day. shes definately acting like shes starving. picking at whatever algea I do have on rocks as well.

feed more? I have brown red and green nori.

i give my tangs a whole sheet of algae a day. that is a purple blue eye, hippo and a rabbitfish though. i also feed them formula two 3x a day with a feeder. they are always hungry. I'd say feed frequently in small amounts. tangs are used to constantly eating in the wild.

I try to give mine a good 2x2 section at least every other day, in addition to the mixture of food that I give the rest of the tank.

1" long when I got it from Phishy almost exactly a year ago. Pushing 3/4" thick by probably 5" long now.
