New Tank help needed!!!!

Hi!
I have had a reef tank for several years, but have never really been successful with it, but always loved it. I personnaly believe that my reason for faillure was teh size of my tanks 33 gallons with 60 pounds of LR and no top off systems. So if I would miss a top off one day, salinity would spike and disease would start. Llighting is 2 24" VHO.

Anyways enougth said about the past. I am now in the process of buying a tank 84" x 22" x 24" with a sump tank 48" x 12" x 18".

BTW I was out off the hobby for the last 5 years, so some stuff that I think i know might be outdated
(AKA 3 to 8 watts per gallon, 1pound of LR per gallons and so on)

My goal is to have Reef (SPS and LPS) setup with a decent fish load!
The only equipment that I have right is a DIY Coil denitrator that used to work well back in the days, and getting a Mini Bubble King 200 Skimmer.

So the first question is the sand bed, so does creating an anaerobic pocket still something that one person what to do or not? How many inches should I do!

And the second one is lighting I want to have a All in one fixture 6'! ( I think I need 3 x 250MH with T5)
Is it worth paying for geisemann or a less expensive coralife will do the job!
What is geisemman do better is it just looks or there is more to it that I don't know or understand!

Thank for your time!

if you going to run a coil denitrator then i see no need for a deep sand bed. if your into the look of sand then i would just put an inch or two.

the Coralife lights are ok, no extra features, lights on lights off. Some of the Geiseman fixtures are programmable and the reflector are better
