6Lwrasse funny behavior or just his personality?

Had the wrasse in my 12gAP for about a month now and he keeps swimming up to the glass and like floating down over and over, he looks kind of amused but i cant tell if hes wanting more room to swim or what. Hell just swim up the side and bend sideways and just float down and go up farther and repeat. Hes eating well an roaming quite often and he looks fine.

Any advice?

Thanks
Sven

sounds like typical 6L behavior. Enjoy the show!

Yeah mine does that too. He's so funny to watch, always active and inquisitive.

When I first saw mine do it, I thought it was some kind of wrasse psychosis, like he had an emotional breakdown. Now I know it's just what they do. It's so funny to watch him go bonkers every once in a while.

I've got a 4 line that does similar things. Whips around the tank, and stops on a dime, he swims through tiny holes in LR, he'll repeatedly swim in front of the powerheads and sail across the tank. I also had to put a screen in my overflow because he routinely hops in and out of it when he patrols the tank.

Got a pygmy possum wrasse that sometimes swims circles around a particular piece of LR that sticks out horizontally! Fun to watch wrasses as the navigate the tank. Take note of this observation from a nano tank stock guide: "Sixline Wrasse (note: some believe 20g+ may be more suitable, if you buy one for a 10g, get it small)" Hopefully, yours won't grow.

mine does the same thing. I believe it see's itself in the reflection of the glass and it's bolt up right and flaring of it's fins is an indication to the relfected fish to get away. Sixlines are enjoyable to watch as they will glide in and out of the reef...disappear then reappear in a different area. I love mine, but it occasionally tries to pick at my masked gobies eyes. Goes right for the eye....not often.

i moved a tank across town once and had a sixline that I could not find. He was hidden in one of the rocks. The rock he was in was out of the water for at least 1 hour as I rearranged the rock work in the upper portion of the tank when setting up the tank in it's new home. When I came home from work 3 days later he was out swimming. What a surprise!! What a relief as I felt sick that I couldn't find him. I thought I lost the fish.
