you said you bought an rodi water filter, thats a good start to having a nice healthy tank.HAVE TO get rid of the tang,i know they look nice, but it has to go,it will outgrow the tank on top of dirtying up the water.

what skimmer do you have? saltwater tanks dont really need filters other than the skimmer, although there are exceptions of course, thats its own thread, but an efficient skimmer with properly timed water changes, with the right amount of livestock, should be just fine in my opinion.

sumps are the same way, they arent needed, but are very nice to have.can hide most of the hardware in them, they bring more water to the system making it more stable, along with numerous other things you can do with them.(refugium ect.)

I hav e Red sea Skimmer with the upgrade but I know it not the best thing but like said i will upgrade to a bigger tank and right now I had him over a year now and I know he or she need more room I would like to help with the red slime without putting in red slime removal to hurting the fish and I wasn't aware about the tang from the lfs until after having it for awhile but I also have one of those black spine sea urshine which eats alot of my coraline alge which is about to be remove but I wanted to know if the ro/di with water changes will help with the red slime on the live sand/ back glasss " it has help removing it but it still there! I know the tang needs more space I will remove it if I can't get something bigger the 100 gals. thanks for the input!
