Do you have any anemones because when they move they leave that behind?

No. They look like tiny tubes out of the live rock, maybe similar to small feather duster tubes, but with no feather. And supposedly they spit out spider web looking "nets" to catch food? Then they reel it in like a casting net? Someone told me this, but I wanted to find out more. Is this a good thing or bad thing? They are all over my tank and the fish swim though them and have spider webs on their faces sometimes.

I also agree. I stop them by plugging the top hole with a ball of epoxy. I tried puttin a nail in the tube and breaking it down but most came back after awhile so I tried the other method with success. They are not a "bad thing" only make a mess with the mucus while feeding.

Vermetid snails multiply like crazy. so if you can get them under control now, definitely go for it.

That's it! Thanks guys! I didn't know that snails can live in tubes. I'll try that epoxy in the larger ones.
