Filtration Recommendations
I've got a new 30 gallon cube I just set up. I'm curious as to various "small" tank filtration systems. Right now I've got a hang on the back MarineLand 170, but I'm interested in something more hardy and efficient....any recommendations??
I don't currently have a sump - just some live rock and a couple of clowns.

What are you keeping in the tank? What do you want to keep in the tank? For a reef tank the best filtration is live rock, live sand good water movement and a good protien skimmer. Nothing else is needed.

Sounds to be like a reef tank to me. Find a good skimmer for the tank, remove the other filters and increase water movement.

My 32 has a sump. In the sump is a crappy Coralife Supper skimmer 220, a small fuge and a mag 5 return pump. In the tank is a rio SEIO 820. No other filtration devices on the tank at all.
