HOB fuge + Tunze skimmer
I currently have a 21g and have the option to purchase a CPR HOB refugium medium size. I also need to have a tunze nano skimmer hooked up to the system, and I hate how it pertrudes into the tank. Can I toss the tunze into the fuge? Its very possible I may just use the CPR for more water movement, and to hold the skimmer and heater unless someoen has a better idea. Dimension of both are...
Skimmer.. Specifications: * Recommended for aquariums from 40 to 200 liters (10 to 52 gal) of salt water * Dimensions: 4.9" L x 2.1" W x 13.3" H * Immersion depth: approximately 7" to 8.6" * Skimmer cup volume: 0.3 l (0.79 gal) * Air capacity: 150 l/h (39.6 gal/h) * Power consumption: 10W CPR Medium 19-1/4"L x 4-1/2"W x 12"H So just by the dimensions it seems it would work... Any ideas? |

I tried the smallest Tunze Nano DOC 9082(?) in small (13") clone of CPR fuge - it doesn't fit, the brigde across the fuge interferes.
Not much help, but I had seen Remoras on the back of the fuge in two cases, could be Biocube airstone skimmer inside the fuge - it should fit. My 2 cents ![]()

I did it. You just have to cut a small section out of the bridge in the middle of the fuge. I tried the heater but there is not enough flow through the fuge to keep the tank at the right temp. I also added a baffle to the middle of the fuge and kept cheato on the other side.
