Achilles tangs are very active swimmers and very difficult to keep, I wouldn't try anything under 6 feet long. I think under 200 gal. would be pushing it.

The hard part is getting an Achilles that is actually healthy to begin with. Most LFS don't put much effort into treating the Achilles after acclimation because they know it will sell quickly. If you get one from Diver's Den at Liveaquaria, they actually quarantine and medicate their fish before selling it. I would definantly stay away from the Achilles in a 90 gallon, you don't want to add to its stress.

I've had one in my 140 for a year and a half now, and he's doing great.

I think the trick to keeping achilles is to keep them stress free. I'm doing this by keeping the fish load low. He shares the tank with only a clarkii and a six line. He is so beautiful, there is no need to add more fish.

Yeah sorry, not in a 4 foot tank. I have one in my 6 foot 125g and I think my tank is too small for this fish. Too active of a swimmer to be cramped in a 4 foot tank.

what are you looking for with color. What other tangs do you have in mind. Some tangs that i can think of right off my head that are colorful are.
Hippo- They are not the hardest fish the can get ich easily just like th PBT.

PBT- although this might be pushing it with a 90.

Yellow- This would be a great tang for the 90 but i would suggest it be around the last fish because they can become aggressive.

Chevron- I think these tangs are great overall lots of color and the adult color is beautiful also. They are a very hardy fish and they are very peaceful

Chocolate Mimic- Not the kind of tang you see that much but i think it does have some beautiful color when it gets bigger and changes.

Powder brown- they are colorful and peaceful they can sometimes get ich very easily. Talk to jcpatella about that one.

Sailfin- They can sometimes be agressive like i said i have one in my 38 qting for now and he has not shown any sign of sickness and he eats like a pig. May become agressive though. But its not a definite.

Yellow eye kole- I was never a big fan of these but some of them do look very cool

Those are some that i can think of right now.

Karr you could also just gaze through your tang through and pick out some colorful tangs and maybe we can give you some background on them.
