Aptasia Anemone

Hello All,
My tank has two feather like anemone which I think is Aptasia sticking on my glass,I think this came with the clam which I bought and died on me recently.Does anybody have pics of this anemones..Are they poisonous.Can I grab them and pull it out.

I would get some Joe's Juice and zap it with that.

These spread like wild fire and can take over your tank--its best to get rid of them.

Are you sure its not a carpet anenome--I gets those on the glass all the time

do NOT attempt to take it out of your tank by grabbing, pulling, cutting, etc. If even a small, barely viewable piece is left in the tank, it will multiply.

I had one in my last tank - thought it looked kinda cool and left it in there. The next week there were three, the week after that there were 9. I couldn't get to them all to inject them so I ended up having to buy a sacrificial Copper Banded butterfly. The CBB munched all of the suckers and then refused to eat anything else, eventually dying. I've also read where some shrimp or crabs will munch on these.

I agree and it sounds like in a good spot that you can put a little drop of Joe's Juice on it without any collateral damage to other corals

Thanks fr yr replies,yes it is indeed aptasia.I managed to get rid of one today while doing WC.This one is a small one.I know there is big one lurking around.Are they poisonous.
