Live Rock
I want to reset the live rock in my tank but wanted to take it out to get a few ideas, will this effect the cycling process, or will the cycle start over. I am new to the hobby so I am not sure.

Are you in the middle of your cycle right now?? If so, than no it won't affect they cycle.
Just don't leave the rock sitting out of the tank for a long period of time, long enough for it to dry. Then you'll have die off and could cause your cycle to be a little longer than normal.

easiest way to "re-set" the rocks, is with a water change. then you can just put the rocks into the change out water buckets, until your ready to put em back into the tank, no problems.
It is best, though, to keep the rocks in water if possible
