poseidon 4 @ 514 GPH?

I just hooked my new ps4 and im getting 514 gph? This pump is rated for way more than that and im wondering what gives? I replaced a little giant 4 which seemed push more water even though its rated lower than the ps4. (never checked the gph on the lg 4)

514 gph with a power head in a 117 cube - is that enough flow? it doesnt seem like it- what do you guys think?

i measured it by timing to see how many seconds it took to fill one gallon. i did it about 20 times and came out with 7 seconds to fill. then i did some math to get the gph. 4 ft of head plus 28 ft away.

i got 514 too

what size plumbing did you use?

i dont know the specs of the pump, but my guess would be the 23' away and 4' up

try plugging it into the head loss calculator here on RC, its on the front page, left side maybe halfway down? is a small link

and your from ct? check out the CTARS forum here, its under the reef club forums. lots of nice people in the club!
