this coral is on my rock, what is it?

Do they ever gain color? They're completely transparent.

I think they are rock anenomes. Just another hitch hiker on live rock. PRobably will not color up but still fun to look at.

it looks like a cup coral. they are non-photosynthetic, so they need to eat meat

so I feed them shrimp or...? They were dormant for a week or two when I got my TBS and then when I started feeding plankton they came out. How do I get them some color?

feed them mysis, or krill, brine, 2-3 times a week, even more if you want them to thrive, it looks like cup coral (turbinaria) but it reesembles dendrophilya (sp) too

I think they're most likely cup coral. DEFINITELY not any sort of anemone. I'll try feeding it some very finely chopped up shrimp and see if they take it. I thought they ate the plankton since they all came out in full bloom once I started feeding that to the tank.

There is a really cool black feather duster in the middle of the colony too.

I'm leaning toward a dendro as well, most of the small anemones I've seen like that have been solitary not grouped like that and i think I saw a photo of some wandering dendros that looked just like that. Just my thought...

I would have added this in the post I just made but I hadn't thought of it, if you want to be sure it isn't anemone's disect it. If it has a skeleton it's coral.

There are a number of single polyped hard corals from the Carribean that grow in clusters like that. They are like little mini LPS corals. Can't recall any of the the names off hand.

They could be babies of a cup coral or tubastrea, but they also might stay just how they are. Place them where they can be seen and take care of them. Could turn out to be something really interesting!

Yup, Hidden Cup Coral. Not likely to ever gain any color. I've had some for years and they've always looked like that.
