What space do you have in the stand to put this?
I would try to put the largest sump that you can fit inside the stand. Then add the baffles to fit your skimmer and return pumps accordingly. What are some specs on your tank? what kind? |

Is it going in the stand? If not I would look for another sump... find one cheaper that's made by a reefer..... then spend the extra on hmmmm..... let's see... BEER!
Seriously though.... I'd look into one that's not so flemsy and can't easily be cracked.... Michael

I say buy the biggest tank that will fit in the area you need to put it. Then go to a glass shop and have baffles made and then you can set it up any way you want. Cheaper and its custom.

I would do like Bennyinca said.... look for the largest sump to fit into your stand.... something that isn't too high.... I thinks a 20gl would fit... but look around.... then when you get it, install baffles to fit accordingly with what you want. You might find that it'll cost ya 50 bucks... +/-

Look in all the FS forums..... but don't buy something that looks flemsy like the one you were looking at on Ebay.... take measuremenets and post for a sump tank.... in the want to buy section....

might check on craigslist.org for any for sale in your local area - they usually have great deals on new/used equipment.

i agree, you will probably stick with whatever you initially set up. so make sure you are getting into what you want. diy, easy to built may take a little time though.

We have the same footprint but you need to measure the internal dimentions of your stand.
I bought a 40gallon breeder tank (36x18x16) and then installed acrylic baffles. This is what mine looked like. |

I put baffles in and it worked nice.... Good luck... Look on Craigs list as mentioned before... Michael

You can also put a ball valve on the return so that you can adjust how much flow you need thru your sump. 5X turnover is about what you need. Depending on how much your skimmer can process. |
