newbee questions
some questions:
1) live sand, coral or nothing for the bottom? 2) can I keep angels with my corals safely? 3) carbon in my canister filter....good or bad? have 55 gal with marineland c360 canister, Bak Pak 2r skimmer |

you can have a tank with or without substrate. i love the look and like to provide a natural environment. well with a 55 im asuming you are refering to dwarf angels. yes they are safe.

1.) You can go bare bottom w/out sand, it's pretty much preference. I personally use Live Sand.
2.) Depends, some Dwarf Angels are prone to nipping at some LPS, and clams, so be careful in which ones you choose, any specific angels you have in mind? 3.) Running carbon is good, you can either run 24/7 or some people run it off and on for a period of time. |

If you do bare bottom you will have to syphon out detitrous from the bottom (or it will look dirty), I have a live sand bed.
I have had angels before and will never again. HEE! HEE!! They love corals so be careful! I run carbon off and on but nor usually all of the time.
