In a new tank i would say remove him.You can try a powerhead to get him out.

Sorry but i must say if this was the first fish addedthen you may not be researching enough.Tangs are pretty aggresive and should be one of the last fish added.
Then i would be more worried about why he died.

What were the water params then? You said pristine until now?

How big was the tang? My guess would be if it were a small one, you may not offset your param's too much. Although, I would try a powerhead, or even a stick to see if you can get him dislodged to remove him...especially if it died from something other than your water, like disease.

You know if you add info like amount of LR and LS with all equipment used and tanks age and stock under your profile it makes it easier.

Info like powerheads and amount of LR and LS and excect water readings and all you test for with water source as these all play a factor in your thread.

Hey remember this section is for people New to the Hobby so be easy on him. If you have a hundred gallon tank and its not a 12 inch tang it should be fine. Could you also tell us what your water reads before and after it died thanks
