Reeflo Dart rebuild question
Replaced the seals, left sit for a day so the silicone would cure and just turned it on.
I got a little drip for about the first 5 minutes but stopped, problem is this thing is noisy, way more than the sound that got me to replace the seal. It's even louder than my Iwaki 70. It's only been running ~15 minutes but can I expect this pump to quiet down or did I mess up a simple rebuild? Last edited by das75; 02/16/2008 at 12:36 AM. |

I'd check the slinger first than remove the rear cover and make sure the fan isn't rubbing. If not that, did you reinstall the impellar washer and tighten the impeller on the shaft untill it bottomed out? Look inside the intake and make sure that the impeller isnt rubbing on the volute, if I remember right you can loosten the screws to the pump/motor bracket and center it if need be.

Well seems the motor itself is causing the noise.
Slinger was centered, fan looked okay but removed anyway and still noisy. Pulled pump out, looked down discharge appears zero runout on impeller and nothing obvious looking in the the intake. Removed volute and impeller (washer was there) and run motor still noisy so guess be calling about a motor. |
