Identifying a crab

It does swim to the surface from time to time. I would love to know if it is reef safe? will it eat my small clown fish?. The crab is very faster, not sure if it could catch the clown fish.

I've been told it could be a lady crab but when googled images I could not find one like it.

I would guess some type of portunid crab... by the swimmers. It is VERY difficult to identify crabs though. Try googling portunid or Portunidae (the family). You may come up with something.

if only it was alittle bigger it would look god with some hot melted butter! mmmm! yummy!

it might be bad for your tank but it is neat to look at.

I wouldn't keep one in a community reef tank. Nice specimen for a sump or small species only tank tough.
