would i have a cycle
if i take a tank and add live sand from the store and live rock straght from my display and add it would i have a cycle?

im pretty sure you would have a cycle just because you are adding new sand. unless your using old water, old sand, and cured LR your tank will have a cycle.

Yes you will still have to cycle. It is the water you are cycling not what is in it (rock, sand). Still give it a good 4 weeks.

what if i use the water from my display when i do a water change? the rock I'm going to use is in this tank i just bought the rock has some green algae so I'm going to srub it and put it into a tub for a couple of weeks would that be a good idea and if i did all that would i still have a cycle? here is the other thred i started about the tank i bought
