Which light up better T-5 or PC got
I got a 40 gal. breeder tank set-up as a fowlr. Looking to put a 2 bulbs T-5 or a 2 bulbs PC. Which one would light the tank up better? Thanks

T5 but only if you have the individual parabolic reflectors. That is what makes them outshine (Pun intended) the PC's.

Even the ones wihtout individual reflectors will far outshine the PC's. This is from my own experience of switching out PC's with the Current USA Nova Extreme T5HO. If you have the money then get individual reflectors they generally cost twice that of standard reflectors.

If you don't plan on EVER putting corals in the tank then either light will do PC's or T-5's.
However most people always want to add corals down the road like myself. If you do, or ever think you might, then it's T-5's hands down. If it's just a FOWLR then PC's or T-5's will work. But if the prices are the same I'd just stick with the T-5's. |
