back in the hobby again lighting question.
I used to be on this site a few years back. I have a 55 gal tank currently with FOWLR running on modified berlin method. Reef Devil, wet/dry for 250 gal tank no bio balls, auto top off ro/di, aquanetics 1/2 hp chiller ( never on ), 16w 6x turbo uv, calcium @ 580, all others @ 0 but, anyways I lost my tank during hurricane wilma and lost thousands of dollars I was just sick over it and I'm just now getting back into it. BTW I have been maintaining the tank but, there is nothing in it besides some polyps that made it ( i have no idea how. ) doing water changes ect. To my point.. I have currently 4 96w PC (2) 420/460 pcs and (2) 10k pc. I want to lose the 10k PC ballast and add one single 175w 20k MH retro kit. Advise able? possibility of running corals again in the future.
Thanks in advance. I'll b lurking around. |

Won't that put me @ 8w per gal. though? my tank is 29" deep I'm not sure what the math works out to with that depth/ light/wattage disipation. I'd figure that the MH will be about 8 - 10" from the water.
