Coral Care vs Anemone Care
In about a month or so I wanted to get a RBTA for my clowns. Everything I read advises me to wait until my tank is about 6 months. If I did get the anemone my tank would be 3 months. On the other hand, once you water params are ok you can start adding corals. Why is it you have to wait for an anemone but not for corals? Are they that hard to maintain? Any advice would be appreciated.

you can t get sps coral that soon or any other demanding coral, atleast i would not suggest it to anyone...anemone are finicky and need stable conditions. i.e a mature tank, they are difficult to keep, you are still a beginner and would not recommend an anemone right now, nor in 6 months...from personal experience and reading i would wait 1 year before adding any type of anemone.
remember patience is the key to this hobby, do not rush anything, wait, read and read some more, you are taking care of life, respect it that way. hope that helps george |
