Blktang, I can always count on your for advice! LOL!
So far she hasn't nipped at anything, just been a piggy for the mysis and spirulina brine when it comes to feeding time.... Yeah I knew you'd notice that darn Aptasia that came in on the Zoanthid... I was hoping that the Peppermint would eat it for me.. He's been so good with the others that came on live rock.... Tank is clean, but only beacuse I am so darn anal about it... I clean the glass probably 3 times a week, baste the rock work twice a week and do 20% water change once a week... |

I have a peice just like this one
Is it ok to place this directly on the sand bed? I think mine is getting bleached sitting at the top of my rock base so close to the lights. |

WOW! The sand is immaculate. I wish mine looked like that. I will have to try your schedule of maintenance and see if I can do that. I like your tank, the aquascape is great too!
I used to keep caulerpa taxifolia in my DT but after a while it really took off. I pulled it out and it grows some deep roots in the sand, kind of made a mess and pieces floated all around. But it adds a nice color, I like it.

Yes it's real Calupera... and yes I will be removing it! LOL!
It's just a place holder for now and I do maintenance on it pretty regularly... I trim it and pull it up to try to keep it at bay... I really likemy sand CLEAN! LOL! My sand sifter ( the stipped goby) does a purty good job too... I have the green zoanthid on a samll base rock on the bottom of the tank. So far it hasn't bleached and I don't expect them too, I have PCs and they're low in the tank... |

Very impressive. And I know how much what I think matters.
But, it does look really great, should be proud of yourself. That one powerhead in the righthand corner that is pointing up, just make sure it doesn't splash the water too much and get on your lights and/or the shield for the lights. Will end up with lots of salt creep, and that is messy. And lord knows that would bother you.

I swear my Coral Beauty actually poses for the photos.. She swims right up to the glass when she sees me with the camera.. Is it possibel she's vain? Ahhh women, what can ya do.... |

I know you because I am just as anal about that stuff.
Good for you, will help the tank too, having a more consistent level of lighting. He he. You're very welcome. And I still have to clean my overflow box, was a slacker tonight. But, at least did a WC on my 58.
