Size hoses on return and HOB filter?

I recently put together a 20 long fuge sump with the glass baffles. I havent put the last baffle up before the return section because i wasnt sure how high i wanted it yet. anyways i have a 9.5 mag drive pump i just recieved in the mail with a 1000 GPH HOB dual filter. 1) Should i use PVC (because the threading) or the clear hoses with clamps ect.? 2) also what size hoses do you think would be good to use for the drain to the sump and the return to the tank? The fitting on the 9.5 is 3/4 inch im pretty sure and the drain are an inch i believe. I plan on putting a stopper point on the return as well as a split at the end into the tank. The sump fuge will be below my 75 in the cabinet.

I was just thinking about the flow because i have a dual drain, and a 3/4 inch return, id have to make the return pipe/hose bigger. to make the flow consistant.......

It will only o/f what is returned,or it can only go as fast as the return pump.

Go at least 1" on your return. You can get one of those fittings that makes goes from 3/4" to 1" on your return pump, then run your 1" return line from there.
