Cleaning Old coral

I'm Going to set up a fish only tank and have several nice big pieces of old coral that I want to use in the new tank.

They are very dirty and was wondering the best way to clean these w/out having them bleach anything bad back into the water.

They look pretty yellow, but are nice big pieces that would be
a compliment to the tank.

I have a fish only tank that uses some large dead coral skeletons as decoration. The filtration on the tank is crap so every month or so I have to remove the coral skeletons and I personally soak them in a mix of bleach and water. Like one cup of bleach to an entire stationary tub full of boiling water.

This combination eats through all the nasty algae that builds up on the skeltons. It will probably work in your case as well.

BE SURE TO RINSE WELL --Yes I am screaming becuase it is important. Rinse Rinse Rinse, and the rinse again before you put this back into the tank. Do this at your own risk. Bleach + Fish = Death so RINSE.

Good Luck --landlord
