chromis?

I have 3 blue green chromis. I bought them at the same a week ago. one of them has a brown spot at the front of the dorsel fin. it is brown. i dont know if that spot was there when i got the fish. the fish are a pretty blue green color and eat very good. do you know what the spot could be?

Chances are you'll only have 1 by the end of the month.
If they're not feed lightly are least three times a day the biggest one will kill the other two.Happens all the time, happened to me as well.So if the one with a spot is a smaller one.......your problem will be solved.

Any chance that brown spot is net damage from getting caught at the LFS?
It could be damage from fighting amoungst themselves. It's weird, they seem to be model citizens during the day. Then at night the pecking order begins.I found one chromis in the morning missing it's tail.Thought it was maybe my CBS,but nope......it wasn't.

I had 3 chromis as well. About 1 month later, all that was left was the biggest one.

I have had six for several years. Never had one pick on any of the others but I did get them when they were quite large and they are all the same size.

Well, I'm a fiddler. I like to do small water changes constantly and feed small amounts several times per day. So I think mine will be ok. I have 2 of them and 2 of the nemo/clownfish. One of the clownfish is quite small compared to the rest. So it's good to know I can't let any of them get hungry!

Edited to say.. They are selfish little buggers. I was feeding my anemones some frozen mix of food. Then I took the leftovers to the other room for the fish. One of the blue chromis took a piece of meat right out of the mouth of the smallest clown fish. He didn't let it bother him though. He just went off and found another piece.

Ive had three for about 7 months and haven't had any problems. All three get along fine and are very healthy.
