Ich?

There is a very small dot of whiteish gray on my clown, it acctually looks like it's part of its skin. Maybe it's just a marking? If you know what it might be thanks.

can you post a picture--ich is a very distinctive white dot usually appearing on the fins--and not usually a single dot

ich goes through phases...
there is like a spore phase that lives in the sand...then the free swiming phase (you cant see it) then the phase where the parasite digs underneith the skin.....it will look like grains of salt on the fish. can be on his fins, skin, gills, mouth ect.....

once on the skin they eat....reproduce (i guess they lay eggs (ie spores) or something) fall off and die.
fish looks fine
then within 1-4 days he/she will have more salt grains on her/him
within like 2 days, the population will have doubled....

it begins to ramp up and just gets worse and worse and worse....

one or two spots coming an going i wouldnt worry too much about it, just keep the fish eating (without over polluting the tank)
but if it gets worse and worse you are going to have to treat.......

im a noob
but i have had three ich infestations....because im a noob

Hmm from the pics I've seen of brooke it didn't look like that. I'll see tommarow though.
